SF JUNIOR GLENS MICRO SOCCER PROGRAM

Picture
Picture
The SF Junior Glens Micro program is designed for players pre-k through 1st grade and aims to Introduce the game, learn basic soccer skills, develop motor skills, improve social interaction, and inspire players to love the sport.

Our ultimate goal is to instill a natural love for the game of soccer that not only the player enjoys, but the whole family.  It has been carefully designed to teach the fundamentals by providing fun soccer practice activities to develop confidence with the ball and make the game lots of fun.

Over the past many years, San Francisco Glens have developed many top youth soccer players. This was the result of starting these kids early, teaching them to love playing with and controlling the ball, and building up confidence through fun and engaging repetition.  For more information, please visit Micro Program FAQ.

We also offer the MLS GO program for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This program includes eight Sunday sessions, each lasting 90 minutes, combining both practice and gameplay in a fun and engaging format.

What is the MAGUIRE METHOD?

We call it the "Maguire Method" after Pat Maguire, our longtime coach and former Director of the Micro Academy. The Maguire Method involves careful and continual repetition of specific ball manipulation and body movements, and has been responsible for giving countless kids the technical foundation, balance, and confidence to start their soccer careers a few clear steps ahead of the rest of the pack.
