VOLUNTEER

There are many ways to volunteer for SF Glens as we have several events scheduled across the year, and we are always seeking volunteers who help us run and maintain our exciting, community club. Please read the volunteer descriptions below and let us know if any are of interest to you.

TEAM PARENT
TEAM TREASURER
The team parent(s) (max 2 per team) responsibility is to be the source of communication for the team being in charge of the Team Snap account, our team management app.  The team treasurer will be responsible for the finance of the team by collecting money and creating the budget for the team events such as tournament.

CLUB PHOTOGRAPHERS
As our club grows, it becomes difficult to cover all games and events.  We are asking parents to volunteer to become Club Photographers to capture the magical moments in our players' careers!  Along with games, SF Glens would like photographers to document our many events including SF Cup, 3GI, Rectacular, Gala, St. Patrick's Day Parade, and more!

INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING
As the biggest youth soccer club in San Francisco, fundraising is essential to our abilities to grow and maintain the quality of our various programs Throughout the year, fundraising volunteers are asked to raise $500.  Fundraising can be done through several ways, ranging from bake sales to online fundraising projects, the options go ​on and on.

VOLUNTEER GRANT WRITING
The SF Glens are looking for anyone who has prior experience with grant writing.  With thousands of institutions in the Bay Area, it would make a massive impact to connect with our neighbors and push SFGE to the next level.

VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH
Volunteer Assistant coach work with head coaches for a season.  The Assistant will attend games, bringing player cards and team rosters to every game.  An Assistant Coach must be approved by the Head Coach before taking the volunteer position and shall be subject to all background and qualifying procedures related to the league of play.

DONATIONS
There are two ways that your generous donation can make a huge difference to SF Glens. First, you can give to our General Scholarship Fund. This fund helps families that demonstarte need keep their kid(s) playing soccer. 

And, secondly, you can help our club fufill a dream of building a Field Complex in honor of Kevin McGuire.

STAR REFEREE
STAR (Specially Trained Assistant Referee) is a volunteer referee who completed pre-season training for Grade 8 level referee.  Every team is required to provide one STAR referee in case a referee does not show up.  

What do I need to do to become STAR referee?
1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. If not already a USSF licensed referee, complete pre-season training of :

• Do the 18 online referee training modules (FREE)
• Attend one field training session

GLENS EVENT VOLUNTEER 
Throughout each season, there are several events the SF Glens organize from tournaments to BBQs.   We will be sending out the sign up link for specific link.  Here are a list of events by season.

FALL

• Mayors OPEN cup - San Francisco's Premier Youth Soccer Tournament
• Glens Gala - End of the season club Gala.  This year's guest of honor: Ray Houghton
• Brest Cancer 4K Run/Walk

​SPRING

• St. Patrick's Day Parade / Float - Every year the Glens construct a float for San Francisco's St. Patrick's Day Parade.  At the parade, all Glens players and families are welcome to join us!
• TRYOUTS 
• SF Cup - Our biggest tournament of the year!
• End of Season Club BBQ - Our annual, end of the season BBQ to celebrate the past Fall and Spring seasons
