2024/25 Program
2024-25 SEASON PROGRAM
In each soccer season (Fall and Spring), SF Glens Goalkeeper Academy offers 4 levels of classes: Initial (7v7), Foundation (9v9), Development and Performance (11v11). Goalkeepers are assigned to a level based on a combination of factors, including age, experience, technical proficiency, and athletic ability.
Our focus is always the development of the player, and our aim is to maximize learning by offering training aligned to the ability of each goalkeeper. We want our Goalkeepers to feel challenged, but not overwhelmed. We want them to feel comfortable in making mistakes and learning from them. We want them to work hard, in a fun and age- appropriate environment. Ultimately, we want them to develop the confidence that is necessary to succeed in one of the most challenging, but exciting positions on the soccer pitch.
We are always looking at the game and how it evolves and use quantitative and qualitative analysis to shape our program content and specific sessions. Some statistics that support our training structure: 76% of the goalkeepers’ ball touches within a game are with their feet. When we look at the remaining 24% of the touches they make while saving a shot, 40% of those saves are a combination of hands and mobility. The rest of the touches consist of 26% off a cross, 20% diving saves and 13% 1v1 challenges.
SF Glens goalkeeper sessions and methodology reflect our designed Goalkeeper Curriculum. Goalkeepers have one dedicated goalkeeper practice per week, which is run separately from their teams. They also practice with their respective teams twice per week, on average. This combination is critical in the development of both the technical and tactical components of the position. The modern goalkeeper needs to be a 360 degrees player and operate in sync with the rest of the team.
For younger ages, the players to coach ratio is 8 or 10:1. For older ages it is 4 or 6:1.
Practices for the Spring25 program will start on the week of March 10th and will continue until mid-May or later, depending on the season timelines of the goalkeeper’s team.
If you are not a SF Glens player, you are welcome to come to one of the practices and check the program at any time. If interested, please send an email to Sebastiano Tevarotto at [email protected]. For cross club players, please be aware that League rules apply.

REGISTRATION LINK COMING WHEN SESSIONS ARE OFFERED
We organize and offer Specialist Goalkeeper Clinics and Camps during and after our Soccer Seasons as we see need and demand. The sessions focus on development and improvement of targeted technical skills and often include Goalkeeper Coaches from out of state and international Academies.
If you already registered as SF Glens Goalkeeper or previously expressed an interest in joining our GK distribution list, you will automatically receive the information when those clinics and camps are offered.
If you never joined one of our programs or you are not an SF Glens' player and wish to be informed when those clinics are held, please send an email to GK Academy Program Director, Sebastiano Tevarotto at [email protected].
SF Glens Summer 2025 Camps preliminary information
SF Glens have a comprehensive range of Soccer Camps for the summer.
Starting this summer, we are introducing Goalkeeper Focus sessions in 2 of the weekly soccer camps. More specifically, June 23-27 and July 14-18.
Our specialized goalkeeper sessions provide a structured, progressive environment for players that wish to master fundamental goalkeeping skills. From basic positioning to shot stopping, our camp focuses on building a solid foundation, then challenges players with increasingly complex drills and scenarios.
Join us for a summer of growth!
In early August, we will have a Goalkeeper Premier Camp for competitive goalkeepers. The formula is a full week of goalkeeper work, touching on all elements of GK development: technical, tactical, physical and psychological. Admission is restricted and the following criteria will apply:
- players born in 2013 or later that play competitive level Gold or higher will be automatically admitted
- if you do not fulfill the above criteria, you will need to be evaluated before you are admitted. Alternatively, we would need an email from your coach that confirms you are ready for an intense goalkeeper camp.
Information will be made available by 3/15/2025
