Goalkeeper Academy FAQ
Here under you can find some answers to the most common questions. In case your question is not in the list, please feel welcome to send an email to benkay@sfglenssc.org . Q: When will I know to what group my son/daughter is assigned for Fall 2022 Goalkeeper training? when will I know the time and location of practice(s)? We plan to have groups formed by August 27, 2022. Communication to pre-registered parents will happen during the same week. Confirmation and payments are expected by September 7th. Practices start between Wednesday September 4th and Tuesday September 10th depending on your assigned group. Q: Will adjustments be made after the groups and schedules are communicated? It is virtually impossible for us to anticipate all problems and combinations. If you have a problem with the assigned practice times, please contact us by sending an email to coach Sebastiano Tevarotto at sebastiano@sfglenssc.org . To the extent possible we will try to find alternative solutions. Q: What is the structure of the Fall 2022 season program? Yellow Team (Players born in or before 2010) will practice once a week, most likely on Friday afternoon for 90 minutes. All GK practices are in addition to team practice(s). Practices are planned to start on Friday September 6th and end on Friday November 11th. There is a charge to cover for field rental and coaches. Orange Teams (Players born in 2008 and 2009) will practice once a week. The choice of the day of the week is subject to the number of classes and field availability. GK practices are in addition to team practices. Practices will start in early September and end on the week of November 11th. There is a charge to cover for field rental and coaches. Red Teams (Competitive Players born in 2007 and 2006) will practice once/twice a week with a GK Coach and once/twice a week with their respective teams. The exact balance will be a case by case joint decision with the team’s Head Coach. Practices will start in early September and end on the week of November 11th. There is a charge to cover for the extra day field rental and coaches. Competitive Players born in 2005 or earlier practice twice/week with a GK coach and once/week with their teams. The team’s Head Coach may decide to adjust the balance as he/she sees the need. Practices are planned to start in the first week of September and end in mid-December. There is a charge to cover for field rental. Q: Can you tell me more about SF Glens' Goalkeeper Academy jersey? Starting in Fall 2019 we will offer SF Glens' Goalkeeper Academy branded jerseys. Working with our official equipment supplier, Soccerloco, we found a great price/quality option. Players are requested to wear the jersey at practice. The jersey can also be used for games. Q: Is the program open to non-SF Glens' players? While the season training is intended for SF Glens' registered players, we are open to accept other players if spots become available. Clinics are generally open to non-SF Glens players. SF Glens club members have priority and more lower fees. If you know of a player who wants to try, please email benkay@sfglenssc.org . We will be happy to offer a time for evaluation. Please be aware there are League rules we need to honor, and that may limit what we can and cannot do with non-SF Glens players.
