2020 Donation Drive
The new CARES Act allows up to $300 in donations as an above-the-line tax deduction for 2020! Details below.
Why Donate to SF Glens Soccer Club? Here are 5 reasons:
1. All the programs we offer ON the field! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are proud to be able to offer the broadest array of soccer programs in San Francisco for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels (Micro Soccer, Recreational, Futsal with our partner Bay City FC, Competitive) thanks to a combination of grants, sponsorships, and of course, donors like you! Your donations also help cover the perpetually increasing costs to reserve enough fields to ensure all these programs thrive, especially in San Francisco. In the last two years, 28 players have gone from our Glens Pathway Pyramid to either a college program or a professional contract. 2. All the programs we offer OFF the field! Building complete players and people is our mission, so we also offer holistic programming outside trainings, such as community service partnerships like backpack drives and voter registration drives through our Glens 4 Good Foundation, college visits and college ID camps, academic support, and even video analytics courses with fellow nonprofit TEAM INC. that incorporate STEM education elements. Amid the pandemic, these programs have been essential to keep our kids active and maintaining our sense of community. 3. Our Scholarship Fund! Our diversity is our strength. We take pride in having players and coaches from almost every zip code in San Francisco, as well as from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Most importantly, we take pride in having NEVER turned a family away due to financial hardship. This ability to be an inclusive club partially stems from our Kevin Maguire Scholarship Fund which has helped Glens players like José Madrigal become the first in their family to go to college (see videos above and below). We were able to award nearly $120,000 in financial aid in 2019-20, and as our club continues to grow, help us reach this season’s goal of $150,000! 4. Our Coaches’ Professional Development! To build complete players on and off the field, it starts with exemplary leadership, and coaches are the lifeblood of our club. That's why we believe in investing in their growth by covering the tuition for their USSF coaching licensing courses, which are necessary to be eligible to coach at the highest levels our teams now compete, as well as improve their pedagogy regardless of whether they coach Competitive, Recreational, or Micro. 5. Your Donations Are Tax-Deductible + New $300 Deduction for 2020! San Francisco Glens Soccer Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit – Tax ID #45-3022817. Update for 2020 Tax Returns: The CARES Act, which was signed into law this spring, includes a “partial above-the-line deduction” for charitable contributions. Previously, charitable contributions could only be deducted if taxpayers itemized their deductions. However, taxpayers who don't itemize deductions may take a charitable deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions made in 2020 to qualifying organizations like us. You must use cash, a credit card, or a check to make such a donation. Ready to Donate? Earmark Your Donation Toward a Specific Fund ![]() KEVIN MAGUIRE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
We have never turned away a single family from our club due to financial need. This is a large part due to the Kevin Maguire Scholarship Fund, which awarded almost $120,000 in 2019-20 so ALL SF boys and girls have access to play, learn, and DREAM! As our club continues to grow, so has the need to grow the Scholarship Fund. Please help us reach our goal of $150,000 for 2020-21! ![]() COACHING DEVELOPMENT FUND
To build complete players on and off the field, it starts with exemplary leadership, and coaches are the lifeblood of our club. That's why we believe in investing in their growth by covering the tuition for their USSF coaching licensing courses from "D" to "A", which are necessary to be eligible to coach at the highest levels our teams now compete (MLS NEXT, USL Academy, NPL, NorCal), as well as improve their pedagogy regardless of whether they coach Competitive, Recreational, or Micro. ![]() FIELD FUND
Our coaches and players are grateful to be able to train and play games at a variety of quality venues in San Francisco. However, with the perpetually rising costs to reserve these fields, we must raise the money to be able to provide access for our teams to reach their potential. ![]() GENERAL FUND
Donations to the General Fund will go toward all other programs or expenses not covered by the Scholarship Fund, Coaching Development Fund, and Field Fund, such as our College Visits, College ID Camps, Academic Support, and Camp Scholarships, among others. How To Donate:
